How to - Creating an identityAnonymous users can submit stories via email. But a better way to get involved with the site is to enter news, columns and stories directly into the system and adding pictures and logos as you go. Stories submitted in this way are flagged up directly to the editorial team and production staff for rapid inclusion in the site. Signing up is free and provides an enhanced web experience which enables you to receive more information from the site and contribute news stories, articles and information to it. Articles will be by-lined to you (if you wish). If you are already signed up, you should go straight to our writing for us page which shows you how to enter and edit editorial content directly. Writing for us can greatly improve your profile and assists our users in finding the information you want. You will not just be filing to injurywatch. Our news stories are automatically syndicated to every major news organisation in the UK. This "How-To" explains how to sign up. It's a good idea to have two browser windows (or tabs in Firefox) open when you use our "how-to" so you can refer back to these pages for information and enter the information in the other.
To add or edit information, you need to log into the site. The first time you log in you will need to create an identity. You can create an identity (and log in) from any page. The log in is in the < —left column. You need the "New user?" link. It looks something like this...
You will need to provide basic information (name, username, email and password) on the subsequent page. Use your own name as this affects how your details appear in the final copy. No email addresses are disclosed within the site so you are not at risk of receiving spam emails. Choose "register" to log in. The following message will appear on the next page:
If this is your first-time-login, take the time to select the "set up your Preferences" option and complete your personal information. How much information you provide is up to you. Two particular settings are important:
Click the option to Save the Page. Click here to for a "How-to" on adding content to the site and writing for us.
