A74(M) Lockerbie crash victim identified as Musselburgh man

Police have identified a driver who was killed in a road accident on the A74(M) in Dumfriesshire.

Mohammed Afzal, 49, of Musselburgh, was killed when two lorries collided on Monday afternoon south of Lockerbie. Police later questioned an elderly man after a car had been spotted travelling north on the southbound carriageway shortly before the incident.

Witnesses are still being sought to the fatal crash and a report is being prepared for the procurator fiscal.
