A 50-year-man has died after his paraglider crashed into the water near Portrush in County Antrim. An air and sea rescue operation was launched after the man got into difficulty at White Rocks beach at about 1945 BST on Thursday. Passengers on a flight from the US to Ireland have been questioned by police after a bomb threat was made against the aircraft, Irish officials said. The aircraft landed at Shannon airport in south-west Ireland just before 0700 GMT, and passengers and their luggage were taken for a security inspection.
