by Murdo Maguire last modified 18-09-2006 17:34

A taxi driver suffered an unprovoked attack as he was parked in his cab, police have said.

The Isle of Man Constabulary said the attacker opened the passenger door and assaulted the driver who was parked near the Isle of Man Bank in Port Erin. A police spokesman said the taxi driver suffered numerous facial injuries.

The attacker, described as being in his 20s with black spiky hair, was wearing a white shirt. Police have appealed for witnesses.
