A Thames Valley Police spokesman said the man died in Friday evening at Milton Keynes General Hospital. "The coroner has been informed and a post mortem examination will take place," he added.

The HSE is investigating the circumstances behind the incident in which 14 storeys of scaffolding collapsed on the site. Up to 200 workmen were at the Witan Gate site but many were on a lunch break when the structure came crashing down.

A new Jurys Inn Hotel, due to open in June, and homes were being built. All building work has stopped and police are treating the site as a crime scene.
