Cruise ship crew member dies in Guernsey accident

by Murdo Maguire last modified 28-09-2006 05:35

A Filipino man has died following an accident on a cruise ship anchored off the coast of Guernsey.

The 39-year-old man, who has not been named, was a crew member on the ship Thomson Celebration.

Police say he was fatally injured on Thursday evening when one of the ship's tenders was about to be hoisted on to the main ship.

Inspector Roger Robilliard, of Guernsey Police, says UK accident investigators are now involved.
