Teenage soldier killed in accident

A 19-year-old soldier killed while taking part in an exercise at an Army base in Wiltshire has been named.

Private Michael Minns, from 9 Supply Regiment, Royal Logistic Corps, was reportedly crushed to death by a heavy vehicle as he took part in a military exercise on Salisbury Plain. Police said the incident took place near Ludgershall, Wilts, at about 2.30pm on Sunday.  Officers said they will be working together with the Health and Safety Exectutive to try to establish the exact circumstances.

The soldier's next of kin have been advised of the tragedy.
