by Murdo Maguire last modified 24-12-2006 12:44

A man has died after being hit by a train on a railway line in Devon.

The 30-year-old man is believed to have been walking along the Honiton railway bridge on the Exeter to Exmouth line when he was struck. The semi-conscious man was found with severe injuries to his feet on Saturday. He died later in hospital.

The man has yet to be identified. Police say there are no suspicious circumstances and have appealed for witnesses to come forward.
