by Murdo Maguire last modified 16-04-2007 19:27

A motorcyclist was killed and another suffered life-threatening injuries when they collided in Essex.

The riders were on the B1057 at Oxen End on Sunday afternoon when they collided at the Bardfield bend. A 28-year-old Brazilian man was pronounced dead at the scene while the other man, also in his 20s, was airlifted to hospital.

Essex Police are appealing for any witnesses to the collision, involving a silver Yamaha and a green Kawasaki.

Both men were with separate groups of motorcyclists riding in opposite directions, and were at the back of their groups.
