Cyclist found with head injuries in Dorset country lane

by Murdo Maguire last modified 20-09-2006 06:27

A 56-year-old cyclist has been found with serious head injuries on a country road in Dorset.

The man from Dorchester was found on a rural road between Muckleford and Winterbourne Abbas, on Sunday. The injured cyclist is currently in a "critical condition" at Dorset County Hospital in Dorchester.

Sgt Tony Burden said: "Due to the seriousness of the man's injuries he has been unable to give an account of what happened. We are not aware of any witnesses to this incident at this time. I'm keeping an open mind as to the possibilities of what has occurred and I'm keen to hear from anybody with any information about exactly what has taken place."
