Four-year-old hurt in Durham cycle crash

A young boy was seriously injured when he was knocked off his bike by a car in County Durham.

The four-year-old rode his cycle into the path of a Honda Civic at West Cornforth, near Ferryhill, according to Durham Police. He was taken to the University Hospital of North Durham with a fractured skull and leg injuries.

The collision happened at the junction with the Oval and Salisbury Crescent at around midday on Friday.
