One dead in multi-vehicle M20 Kent crash

by Murdo Maguire last modified 28-02-2007 09:17

One person has died in a road crash involving up to six vehicles, including a lorry, on a motorway in Kent.

The accident happened on the London-bound carriageway of the M20 between junctions four and three. Three other people suffered serious, but not life-threatening, injuries and were taken to Maidstone Hospital.

Police said the M20 would remain closed for several hours, with traffic being diverted onto the A20. Motorists are being urged to find alternative routes.

Fire crews were called to help cut free drivers and passengers after the accident at 0140 GMT.
