Rider left in intensive care after fall from horse and cart

by Murdo Maguire last modified 23-04-2007 16:36

A 64-year-old Annan man is in intensive care after falling from a horse-drawn cart in Cumbria.

The man was on the cart near The Knells between the villages of Houghton and Scaleby when he fell and suffered head injuries on Sunday afternoon. He was treated at the Cumberland Infirmary but was later transferred to Newcastle General Hospital.

Cumbria Police want to speak to the driver of a car which passed the vehicle at the time of the fall.
