Road accident: Dead schoolboy named after Wishaw cycle crash

A seven-year-old who died after he was knocked off his bike has been named by Strathclyde Police.

Lewis MacGregor had been cycling in Newmains, Wishaw, on Tuesday when he was hit by a car. The accident happened in the town's Devine Grove at about 2030 BST. He was taken to Wishaw General Hospital where he died from his injuries.

A report on the incident will be forwarded to the procurator fiscal. Police have appealed for witnesses.
