Three people die in A38 road accident near Derby
Two women and a man have died in an accident on the A38 near Derby. The accident happened near the Toyota island just before midnight on Friday, Derbyshire Police said.
A stretch of the A38 was closed for eight hours while an investigation took place, but police say they have not yet determined the cause of the accident. A Derbyshire Police spokesman said the three victims have not been officially identified. They are asking anyone with information to contact them.
In a separate accident, two people were taken to hospital with serious injuries early on Saturday morning near Riddings. Two victims were taken to the Derbyshire Royal Infirmary with serious injuries after the accident on Main Road at Golden Valley in Riddings involving a Ford Transit.
