Sports injury: Stoke speedway star shows signs of improvement

by Murdo Maguire last modified 13-07-2006 05:59

Stoke promoter Dave Tattum has issued a more positive bulletin on Luke Priest, who was seriously injured in a race crash last week.

Priest's horrific crash in the Spitfires' home meeting with Scunthorpe left him needing surgery for pelvic, elbow, ankle and internal injuries.

"His father said Luke has had a drink of tea through a straw and has eaten a little rice pudding," said Tattum. "There's still a very long way to go but everyone will be pleased to hear that there's a slight improvement."
