Tanker crewman flown to hospital

by Murdo Maguire last modified 30-01-2007 06:22

An injured tanker crewman has been flown to hospital in Aberdeen after an accident on board his vessel.

The man was on the Else Marie Theresa about a mile out into Aberdeen bay when it is believed he fell. A helicopter from RAF Lossiemouth flew the man to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for treatment at about 1615 GMT.

Aberdeen Coastguard said it was thought he may have suffered head and shoulder injuries and was placed on a spinal board as a precaution.
