by Murdo Maguire last modified 23-12-2006 03:25

A woman is recovering from shotgun wounds in hospital in Inverness after an incident at a hotel in Bonar Bridge.

The 35-year-old was cleaning one of the rooms when the gun went off accidentally in a room on the floor above her. Police said the woman's injuries, sustained on Thursday, are not thought to be serious.

Northern Constabulary said they have established that there are no suspicious circumstances. The woman has been kept in hospital overnight for observation.
